458: How Four Minutes Each Day Can Lead to Awareness and Health
I have to admit that I use the word autopilot way too much. However, it just seems to be fitting for explaining how most people go through life, simply responding and not taking enough time to really understand how to consciously respond to the world around them.
When I was younger I had the pleasure of working on an adolescent in-patient psychiatric ward counseling emotionally challenged teens. One of the methods I used in helping them understand themselves is actually something that is beneficial for most people. I have changed it roughly but the core benefit remains the same.
